While I really do enjoy running, it's rare for me to feel great after each run. Today, I got back from a nice 5 miler and I felt awesome. I was pumped up and ready to run another 5 miles(but of course I didn't - don't want to get hurt). I wish I could have that feeling after every run. They say a runner high but I think that's mostly when you are actually running, not afterwards. Anyway, more of these types of runs would be great. I thought I was going to hate running in the Winter too but I guess it doesn't matter what it's like out, you still get great runs every once in awhile. The run was not particularly faster or on a different path from what I normally take. I guess my body just responded to it well today.
Stupid running question of the day -
Do you double knot your shoes or not?
I do although I did not used to when I first started running. I don't do it to keep them tied because I have never had them loosen up on a run. I just do it because I don't use all the lace holes in the shoes and it helps so they are not flapping around so much. By the way, does anyone use those quick tie shoe laces. I believe many triathletes use them but was not sure if any runners used them.
Have a great day and.......Keep Running!
I don't double tie my laces but the ends of the laces get tucked under the previous lacing to stay out of the way. Kinda hard to explain! Great job on the 5 miler, that is a fast time, it's always nice when you get back feeling really energized!
ReplyDeleteI don't double tie but mine arent't that long. I actually lace them in a way that uses more of the lace, which snugs the heel up. I used to have problems with shoes rubbing my heels, but no more.
ReplyDeleteNice run!!
ReplyDeleteI double tie my laces. When I first started running my dad suggested that I double tie them. So I have ever since.
Hey- thanks for stopping by :)
ReplyDeleteI use Tri laces in my shoes and they are the best ever! Never have to worry about it
I use Yankz laces, you never have to tie your shoes again, I highly recommend them
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog, I am from Michigan as well, St Claire Shores, my Dad was born and raised in East Pointe (or East Detriot as he calls it) before moving to Arizona, now I am in Ohio. I am still a big Lions (yes I admit it), Wings (this is my saving grace in Detriot sports), Tigers and so on, some I cant mention because of where I live, its crazy down here.
I do double knot my shoes but only because the laces are really long! I want to get some quick laces but I haven't yet. Maybe Santa will bring me some! :)
ReplyDeleteI always double knot.
ReplyDeleteI'm knotty.
double down!
ReplyDeleteYou have a lovely tree! Our's is going up tonight or tomorrow evening. We are a little behind this year:) You know how life gets so crazy.
ReplyDeleteNice job on your five miler!
Good for you with your run! Yes, I always double knot - habit from tying my kids shoes for years.
ReplyDeleteWow! And here I was thinking that most people did not double! onelittletrigirl - I'm going to have to tri these - get it! C2Iowa - you must also be a gambler LOL!
ReplyDeleteAlways double. I'll let you know how the fish tacos go...have not made them before so we shall see. I'm going with this recipe but using lettuce instead of cabbage : http://www.foodandwine.com/recipes/fish-tacos-with-creamy-lime-guacamole-and-cabbage-slaw
ReplyDeleteI double knot for races only. I have had to stop in a race and retie - talk about a time waster.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the link Amanda! I'm going to print it out right now.
ReplyDeleteWelcome to the running blogworld. And how cool of a masthead to feature you with Meb!
ReplyDeleteI wear New Balance shoes that have a unique shoe lace that doesn't require double-knotting, but if I am wearing other running shoes, I usually do to be on the safe side.
I never double know. I haven't had any issues so far. ;) Great run! Keep it up!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog! Winter running ahead for US!! looks like you have already accepted it and are doing well...
ReplyDeleteDerek
I always double knot. Mostly because I always have. Right now my laces are kind of short and it's a pain to do it, but I still do it anyway. I'm sure they'd be just fine single knotted but I guess I'm just neurotic that way.
ReplyDeleteThe high afterwards is my favorite part of the run! I never finish a run and think "wow, I wish I hadn't done that."
ReplyDeleteStay safe with all your snow this weekend and thanks for stopping by my blog!
