You would think with us getting a little snow this morning that I would rather stay in Pittsburgh(since they had like no snow) but I'm glad to be back in Detroit.
This morning I did six miles at Stoney Creek. I'm really making an effort to get there for every long run going forward. We'll see if that works out.
I really wanted to do a race in February but cannot seem to find one that fits my schedule. What do you do when you want to run a 5k but you need to do 8 miles that day? I just can't see running the 5k, getting home and then running another 5 miles. Starting in March, I'm pretty much on schedule for races and my runs so it should work out.
Have a great day everyone and.....Keep Running!
Just stay at the race and sneakin your extra miles after you cross the finish line. That's exactly what I did today. : )
ReplyDeleteGlad you're home safely!! Good luck finding a race! I agree with the above poster!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Marcia, heck start early you could actually be faster towards the end with a good warm up!
ReplyDeleteHey at least you came home to some "balmy" weather. I'm loving this 40 degrees!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with finding a race!
ReplyDeleteI'd have just added on to the race distance too, but maybe that wasn't an option for you. Welcome back.
ReplyDeleteI usually do my training mileage before the race and time it so I start the race soon after completing my training run.
ReplyDeleteBasically what everyone else said; race the 5K and then head back out after crossing the finish line for your additional mileage. I did that yesterday after my 4 mile race.
ReplyDeleteGlad you're home! I agree with running hte 5K and then doing a nice easy 5 afterwards, OR starting with an easy 3, do the 5K and finish with an easy 2 for cool down...good luck with whatever you decide!
