A little blog story

Today, I woke up for an Early Morning Run at Eastside Stoney Creek hoping to see Ken working out plus I hate the treadmill!!.  But before I left, I realized it's my rest day today and I'm not trying to get in 50 after 40.  Now I know I'm no Pedestrian Runner and I'm certainly not a Skinny Runner, but I figured "I tri to be me" and so I could run today.  Then I realized, what am I doing?  I'm in the middle of marathon training and on A Quest for Running Perfection so I really should not run on a rest day.  As I was Running off at the mouth, my wife said to me, "What would Chris K or Kovas do?"  I said, "I'm not really sure, probably run."  I really did not think it was necessary to get out there since I  have been Happy with 13.1 miles for my last half marathon.   So I decided not to run today - maybe.

For now, I got up early to read more running blogs and figure out, Am I doing this right?  Upon my blog search, I figured out that I don't need to go from Zero to 26.2 but I also don't want to get off on any Tangents that could effect my training schedule.  My wife said "Just Shut up and Run!" and I told her that is what I have been doing for the last 19 months.  She said I need a goal and I would agree with her on that because you don't want to BQ or Die so you need some accountability which I think I have given myself.  I mean, jeez, I'm already Almost Running on Empty so I don't know how I could push myself any further.  For me, I always have a reason to run.  I mean, seriously, am I a runner....or just crazy?  I figured if I wanted to I could really be a crafty jogger and just go out and do it because I'm really not a fair weather runner and it's a good thing with all this snow we've been having around here.   I said to my wife, "Why don't you come running with me?  I think you'll like it and If I can't convince you - - I'll at least confuse you"

I would say that twenty-six point two is THE goal for the year for me because I know that I'm not going to be getting into any Ultra Marathon Running or Ironman 101 anytime soon, because thinking that way, I would certainly be jogging with fiction.  Perhaps the best thing for me to do is make a visit to Canada in order to see how Lee on the Run does it but even though I'm no fair weather runner, I'm not running in those conditions but I'm no Heat Runner either.

So in the end, through this whole struggle on whether to run or not today, my decision is NO.  I'm sticking to my guns and my training plan - I mean, this is more than a marathon so I'm doing what I should do which is rest.  You just need to take life one step at a time.  Yes, I know - I am boring!

Ok, I have no more energy to continue.  Too many copy and pastes.

Have a great day everyone and.....Keep Running!
