Time.....

Wow.  Rest day yesterday.  Cross training today.  I'm bored.  I need a good run in.  3 miles due for tomorrow and 4 for Wednesday and that's all I"m doing for the week.  It's amazing how much time you have when you're not in the height of marathon training.  I even went to get DQ with the family on Saturday night -- oops, I know I'm supposed to stay away from that but Snicker's Blizzard(Mini) is my favorite!

I'm starting to look at the weather for this Saturday and it's driving me crazy.  Some sites say 65 and sunny for a high, some say showers.  Jeez, I shouldn't look until about Thursday.  I should be fairly confident with how it's going to be two days before.

Here's a couple pictures of the view I'm looking forward to on Saturday.
A view from above
A little closer look

How often do you check the weather the week of a big race?  Too much for me!

Have a great day and.....Keep Running!!!!!!

  1. It really is amazing what you can get done when you're not running. At the same time, rest days bore me like crazy too!

  2. It's crazy when I look at your 'Race Countdown' and the days just keep flying by.

    So excited for you, Jeff!

  3. I check it for every run, not just races. And I check it as far out as I can (10 days) and then I drive myself nuts. LOL.

That looks like a beautiful view. So excited for your race. Good luck!

  4. I start checking about 10 days in advance and continue to check every single day, including the morning of! I also check 3 sites; channel 4, weather.com and accuweather.

To say I am a bit obsessed is an understatement.

  5. I'm a drive yourself crazy checking the weather all the time before race day. Though on race day it can suddenly go from high of mid 70's to the mid 80's without any prediction here.

  6. I am guilty of weather stalking. You are going to have so much fun Saturday. I am so excited for you. (I looked to see if I could buy a half marathon bib on craigslist yesterday...no luck.) Don't forget to grab some Cold Stone ice cream after the marathon. I hope they have the food closer to the finish line. Last year it was waaay over yonder and it was frustrating.

  7. Don't look at the weather... it will only cause you more stress than needed - especially since it'll change 100 times between now and the weekend! :)

  9. Good luck Jeff! I know you'll do great. I've really enjoyed keeping up with your training progress and am so excited for you to kill it this weekend :)

I am a psycho-weather stalker for race day. As soon as it comes on the 10-day, I'm checking it at least 3 times a day!

  10. Ha ... you are doing EXACTLY what I do every race! Careful with the DQ, I've gained some unwanted race weight with that plan in the past too! Not much longer now ...
