First longer run back...

Six miles today.  Went a little too fast with a 8:30 pace.  It was also HOT!  About high 60's to start.  Overall felt pretty good though.  It's actually nice to do some shorter distances.  The top of my foot is feeling a little off.  Good day for cross training which is tomorrow.  Also, it's nice and warm here so sandals and bare feet are nice when your feet hurt.

Back to cross training tomorrow.  Weights and bike but just a shorter bike ride.  Can't say I'm that excited about it.  I have to use the exercise bike.  I need to get a new bike helmet and soon so I can get back outside!

-------------------------

So I finally put a new plan in place that takes me almost through the rest of the year.  It pretty much follows the Hal Higdon intermediate plan again which seemed to work well for me.  I like to put it out there to commit myself to it.  Not sure how I will do keeping to this the second time around.  I guess it just depends if I feel like switching to the full Detroit Marathon instead of the half.  Only $35 bucks to upgrade to the full and I get until October 1 to decide so I have plenty of time to decide.

-------------------------

Yesterday, I was at the lawn mower store and the guy that helped me said "Hey you run marathons?"  He saw my 26.2 sticker on my car.  I said I just did the Bayshore marathon.  He is runner too so we talked a little about races, training, etc.  You just never know when you're going to meet someone new that runs.  Runners are such personable people, do you think?

Question of the day?  Where have you met other runners besides when running or races?

Have a great day and.....Keep Running!!!!!

  3. I always think it's cool when I find other people at work who run or do triathlons, even though most people are much better than me, it's still cool to talk about the sports, what they do for training, etc.

  6. Funny - at the lawn mower store. I think runners are quite personable. There's a never ending supply of stories. We love to tell them and hear them/read them. Isn't that much of why we blog?
