Ifitness belt review and giveaway

5 miles on the schedule today - done; this was one of my windiest runs I have done since I can remember.

---------------------------

Ifitnessinc. was kind enough to send me one of their belts to test and give a review.  I have been looking for something to use especially on my long runs so I can get used to using it for my next marathon in 52 days!

The belt they sent me is called their Double Pouch belt.  Why did they send me this one?  Because they asked me what I would use it for - how's that for customer service?  My primary purpose was to use it for my phone(I use a Blackberry) and to store GU chomps along with my keys and money.  The quality of this belt is top notch.  It is well made with nice stitching and is very comfortable(soft to the touch and/or skin) since it is made from Neoprene.  I got black on black so it would match everything I wear.

I started off the test of this belt with numerous short runs.  I didn't want to start with a long run in case I did not like the way it fit or if it bothered me in some way.  Well, far from it!  I barely noticed it was there.  I know that most of you use running belts and you put them on with the pockets in the front.  Frankly, I just could not get comfortable with it in the front of me.  Not because it was not comfortable but for my personal preference, I liked all the stuff in my back when I was running.  It just seemed much more comfortable to me and stays in place better for me.  I'm sure most of you would prefer it in the front though for easy access to your stuff.  I felt it was still easy to get to stuff even when it was on my back because you could easily reach the zipper and get what you needed.  My thoughts are as long as it's not bouncing around all over the place, it does not matter what side you wear it on.  I seemed to notice the belt even less when it was put on my back so that's where I'm using it.

After numerous shorter runs, I decided to run with it on my long run.  I did 15 with it and thought if I can get through 15 miles with this around me, I can get through 26.2 or 50 or...well, you get the point.  I had my phone, my car keys, and my GU chomps with me and everything fit perfectly in the two pouches plus I still had room for more if I really wanted something in there.  I also used it for a trail hike carrying my camera and my phone and was really comfortable with it on.
Great for the trails too!
My second worry for a running belt was chafing.  Really, who wants to wear something that is going to hurt you the longer you run?  Not me.  If any chafing was going to occur, it was going to happen on my long run.  It was about 80 degrees outside and I was sweating up a storm.  After the run, I really inspected to make sure I was good and there was no chafing - check - no worries here.

The final thing I was worried about was my phone getting wet.  No worries here again.  This baby is water and sweat resistant.  My phone was dry as a bone when I finished my run.  Not the same could be said for my shirt.  There was not a dry spot on it due to the high heat.

An additional feature that I also like is the two little reflective strips on the belt.  I run in the dark 80% of the time so it's nice to have a couple more reflective things on to help keep me safe.  There is also an inner pocket on this so you can keep ID or a credit card separated from your phone or other stuff.  I would take a picture of it if I could get a good one of that but I couldn't.  Trust me when I tell you that it's very easy to slip a credit card or money in that inner pocket to keep it organized.

You can certainly tell that the people at Ifitness Inc. are runners that knew what they were putting together when they made this.  I have tried other belts, most of which shake all over the place or ride up on you, but this one stays in place.  I do have another belt that I use for my race number especially in the winter time.  If you are looking for something like that, you can order an iFitnessinc belt that has race number holders that go with the belt - how convenient!

Here's a few pictures of the belt itself:

Great quality clip and easy to use!
