WTF Wednesday 8/3

7 miles on the schedule today.  Done.  Hot and humid again today.  You know you are a runner when you go outside for a run and it's sprinkling for about 2 minutes, you finish your run and it didn't rain but you're wetter than if it did rain.

------------------------

WTF Wednesday -

1.  The debt deal is done.  What a surprise.  Perhaps it fixed the short term problem of default but I agree with a quote by Sebastian Mallaby of the Council on Foreign relationship.  "It will save the US government from defaulting on it's obligations to pensioners and others.  But it does not address the long term fiscal challenges facing the nation"  I could not have said it better.  WTF - We used to be one of the strongest nations in the world.  Shame on you(US Government) for spending what we don't have and thanks for making things even harder for my children.

2.  Reality shows at it's peak? - A show about Roseanne Barr and her boyfriend running a macadamia nut farm - Quality TV at it's finest - W.T.F.  Who cares?

3.  An $8 million gold plated Rolls?  Some middle eastern business man commissions a $450,000 Rolls redesigned with gold now worth over $8 million.  WTF?  He's making us Americans look bad by not keeping up with that.  Jeez.

Also, don't forget my contest for the headphones ends this Saturday.  If you did not enter, please click HERE for a chance to win.

Question of the day?  What's your gripe?

Have a great day and.....Keep Running!!!!!

  1. I sometimes wonder how people thought up some of these insanely ridiculous reality shows. That term has really changed since the first few seasons of The Real World.

Great job getting out there in the heat this morning!

  2. A little sad you implied the debt issues were the fault of the Bush Administration - especially when Obama is one of the most "spend thrift" Presidents to date. Bush certainly didn't help, but this predicament was brought on long ago by provisions in the New Deal and by LBJ increasing those provisions, essentially creating an entitlement state that has only gotten worse today. Sorry to go political on you.

  3. I read an article the other day written by the producer of a reality show talking about how much "reality" is actually involved. It's not much :)

  5. Agree on all your WTFs. Some reality shows I enjoy but some are just inane. I don't get Jersey Shore. Granted, I've watched all of 2 minutes of the show like ever, but I don't get the premise and don't understand why that would appeal to anybody. But it does. Then again, I like watching Storage Wars and I'm sure there are many people who probably think that show is lame :)

  6. Are you following Hal Higdon's intermediate marathon training? We seem to be on a very similar schedule!
