Cross training

Rest day on the schedule today.  I figured since I had the day off I would get myself back into Cross training.

Bowflex workout for a half hour and then 5 miles on the exercise bike.

Not too much but did not want to overdo it either.  It felt good to get back into this.  I really should do more cross training but I just can't get motivated to do it.

Question of the day?  How do you get yourself motivated to cross train?

Have a great day and....Keep Running!!!!!

  1. Is Pacman a cross-training sport? I think I would like to do that if it is!

  3. I only do some core and upper body exercises in addition to running. I do it at home after my shorter runs three times per week. I find if I do it right after my run I don't need special motivation for it.

  7. My cross training comes from triathlon since I have to practice all three sports and a mandated exercise routine from my physical therapist….I am not so good at motivating myself. I hate weight lifting machines!

  8. Christi - you can throw a couple games in, I suppose.

    Ken - you got it!

Beth - I hate lifting too. Haha!

  9. I don't cross-train near as much as I should. I mix in quite a bit of leg work, but I need to be better about actual workouts that increase my heart rate.

  10. Is it bad that cross-trainer equipment instantly reminds me of medieval torture devices? I'm horrible about it!
