1BandID review...it will save your life!

8 miles on the schedule today with my new 1BandID....done!

----------------

As most of you already know, I am very cautious when I'm running.  It's especially important to me since I'm running in pitch black darkness.  Because I'm not alone in the pursuit to not be run over by a car, the safety factor is a big part in the industry and there are many products out there to help keep you safe.  1BandID one of those products that really stands out as exceptional for very little cost.

What is it?  It's a strap, not a bracelet, that also has your ID information on it.  God forbid you get hit by a car when out running, walking, biking, etc.  If you have ID on you, this will help first responders get to your loved ones quicker and also let them know if you have any issues that they might need to know - like allergies - in order to save your life.  It's unfortunate that we have to think this way but, there is a good possibility that if you do get hit by a car, that you will not be conscience and the information on the 1BandID could save your life.

So how does it work?  It's really very simple.  You order a 1BandID on their website with your information on it and shortly after it comes in the mail.  I like the fact that they put my name on the package(especially hand written) - it made me feel special - like I was their special client.
Notice the very simple packaging above.  The owner, Joe Vukson, said that he has made a commitment to the environment so he has done what he could to keep the packaging as minimal as possible.  I admire companies thinking like this!

The real key to this product is that it's attached onto something you never forget when you go out for a run - your watch/GPS.  I can tell you the number of times I have run without my Garmin  - ZERO.

Here's a few pictures so you get an idea how this actually fits on your watch.  As you can see, the 1BandID is made with neoprene(like a wetsuit) so it stretches to how you need it to fit on your watch/GPS.  This helps give it a very customized feel to it.  The outside has velcro so it's very easy to attach.
Great quality!(back)
Of course, you can see what it looks like here from the front.  I have covered the personal information on my 1BandID but you get the idea.  You have the ability to customize up to six lines including information such as:  Name, City, State, a couple emergency contacts with phone numbers, medical information, and even a mantra if you wanted.  I put "Keep Running!!!!" on mine at the end and it helps keep me going.

It's very simple to use - you wrap it around your watch/GPS as shown below.  As you can see, I picked orange because it matched nicely with my GPS unit but they have seven colors to pick from.

On the watch!
That's it.  It literally takes 3 seconds to put on your watch/GPS and stays put.  No need to ever remove it unless you want to clean it.
Here's a good picture to see how it fits perfectly.
Here are a couple pictures with me actually wearing it.  As you can see, the 1BandID does not interfere at all with the comfort of the watch.  You can't even tell it's there which is exactly the point.

a little close up
You can just see it on the bottom

From this picture you can see, I added No Known Allergies and my running mantra, "Keep Running!!!!" at the bottom of the stainless steel ID.

This is a product that I highly recommend.  For $19.99, this will be one of the best investments in running you have made.  It you buy one thing for running, this should be it.  It could literally save your life!  I know there are many of you out there that still do not use any ID when running - this is the time to do it.  Go to their website and buy one NOW!  It's one less thing to have to worry about when running.

Have a great day and....Keep Running!!!!

** I received a complementary 1BandID in exchange for my review.  All opinions are my own and I was not required to give a positive review.

  1. That looks like a really cool product! Do you know if it fits well on the velco Garmin? I just looked at mine, and I have such tiny wrists, that all my velcro is being used to keep it on.

  3. Melissa - you can put on either side of your velcro watch strap so it should fit.
