IDmeBAND review - part 2 of a 3 part series

3 miles on the schedule today...done in the misting rain.

--------------

This is part two in a three part series of the IDmeBAND reviews.

The second review is Gone for a Run's IDmeBAND's  RunningLACE IDmeBAND bracelet.  Here's a couple pictures of it:
From Gone for a Run's website
I was sent a similar one in the picture above.  Here are a few more pictures of it in detail:

As you can see, the RunningLACE IDmeBAND is a running shoe lace made into an ID bracelet.  A really great idea.  It also comes with an Aluminum ID tag that allows you to put pertinent information on the ID in case you are not alert and a paramedic needs to alert your family.

This is a one size fits most(probably all) purchase so you don't have to worry about sizing.  In order to size it, you basically pull one end of the shoelace and then pull the other end of the shoelace until it fits like you want it.

While I really like the concept of this bracelet, I personally saw a couple flaws with it in my opinion.  First, it's somewhat difficult to get the size that you want it to be.  I had to grab the ends of the lace(near the black part) with my teeth and then use my hand to pull it tight - not an ideal way to put this on but it was the only way I could find to adjust it to fit my wrist.  The other issue is that the ends of the shoelace are burned/glued so that the shoelace will not unravel - a good idea, except that it makes it somewhat uncomfortable on the wrist as one of the ends touches your skin.  Once you have it tight, you need to twist the shoelace so the part that is burned is not against your skin otherwise it's irritating to wear.  Once the ends were away from my skin, I did not notice it when running.  Other than these two things, it's a great idea.  This is also a very light(weight wise) bracelet compared to many I have seen.

Here's a few more pictures with it on:
On the wrist

You can see the end glued/burned?  It makes it tough on the skin.
I think another option for this is to put this around your ankle.  It fit on mine but was a little tight getting it on.  I do think it's probably large enough to fit around most people.  This eliminates any issues of putting it on since you would have both hands available to tighten it.  Also, It would be around your sock so you would not feel it either.  A great solution(for me at least).

While I did not receive one, the concept of this bracelet is similar to their IDmeBAND LACE-IT-UP shoe ID which also looks like a great ID option for your shoe.

The IDmeBAND RunningLACE retails for $19.99 and you can customize the ID portion with up to six lines.  The lace colors are available in black, white, yellow, pink, blue red and orange and you can also pick the ID colors which are black, blue, green, pink, and red.  You really have lots of choices!

Stay tuned tomorrow for Part III of the IDmeBAND reviews from Gone for a Run.

* Note:  I received a complementary IDmeBAND RunningLACE bracelet in exchange for a review.  I was not required to give an opinion on this other than my own.

Have a great day and....Keep Running!!!!
