The official start

5 miles today...done!

------------

So today officially started another marathon training program.  I'm following Hal Higdon's Intermediate plan again.  While I'm really not training for a marathon(I'm not signed up for any in the spring yet), for some reason running on a plan gives me purpose.  I enjoy not having to think about what I'm going to be running for the week.  Those of you(most) that run on a plan know what I mean.

Have a great day and...Keep Running!!!!

  2. I suspect there are a lot of people like you that train for a marathon but don't have plans to actually join a race. It's a smart strategy if you like a lot of structure.

  3. My half marathon training started this week for the Full Bloom trail race in April. And while I am not the biggest fan of running, having the plan is the actually helps me get to the race. If I went without the plan, I'd go crazy figuring out what distance I needed to run that day.

  6. So my question to you is this: How long is your marathon plan? Why you ask, you are going to have to run some sort of race around then aren't you?

I need to get back into Marathon training, but only in the new year.
