Cider mill time....and 20 miles!

20 miles on the schedule today.  It really could not have been much better in regards to weather today. Started in the high 40's and probably reached maybe 60 by our finish.  Plus it was nice and clear outside.

This morning I ran 4 miles by myself and then picked up D, for an additional 16 miles.  D is training for a half marathon and was doing 16 miles.  16 miles in half training is awesome!  More than I've ever done for half training.  Anyway we made our way out to the Paint Creek Trail.  This is our trail of choice for running 18 miles or more.  We parked at the Paint Creek Cider Mill since we were told there were bridges out in parts of the trail.  We came to find out there were not any bridges out at all.  Oh well.

We ended up running out to Lake Orion and back and then back towards Rochester and back to the Cider mill.  What a great finish to a 20 miler.  Donuts and Cider - they never tasted so good!  The donuts were warm and the cider was cold - just the way I like it!  Parking here to start your run weekly could be dangerous.

As you can see I started off a little faster without D.  He tends to run a little slower pace which was great by me since I wanted a slow long run.  Plus it was the finish of my second 50 mile week so I wanted to stay conservative on the pace.  I felt good the entire time and only at mile 18 did I start to feel tired.  Very pleased overall.

It looks hilly but is very gradual overall - really it's flat.

I'm not sure great and 20 miles go hand in hand much so I'm happy to have two of them behind me.

Have a great day and....Keep Running!!!!
