4 miles on the schedule today. Yikes it was freezing out there this morning!!!!
-----------------
So I know all of you that run marathons, including me, usually have a goal for the race so I suppose I should have one too. I have not thought about it much really. I worked pretty hard in this marathon training cycle and feel that my legs will be well prepared for this one. Of course, I also thought that the last three times. Ha! I certainly know what to expect(well, baring any issues race day) since this is #4, so I've come up with my game plan.
I'm going for broke on this marathon.
A goal: 3:49:59 or less
B goal: 3:49:59 or less
C goal: 3:49:59 or less
D goal: 3:49:59 or less
LOL! There you go. I'm not leaving much room there. Plus my personal best is 3:58:45 so it's a significant reduction in my PR. The running calculators say I can run a marathon in 3:30:00. Huh? I'm putting it all out there for my goal but I'm not sure I'm ready to commit to an almost 30 minute shave off my PR. Will I be disappointed in the end, we shall see? Either way, I'm tired of having several goals just to make me happy I got to a goal I wrote down prior to the race.

Have a great day and....Keep Running!!!!

Jeff, I think you will come in way under your goal. I have followed your training in the last marathon also and this time around you have gone above and beyond. You have inspired me to do the same with my training. You will do great come marathon day!
ReplyDeleteWell, I hope you make at least one of your goals!
