Renewal by Andersen of Detroit Supports Running Community

Over the last couples year of my involvement in running, I have met some fantastic people in the area and some incredible companies that support the local running community.  One of those companies that really stands out is Renewal by Andersen of Detroit.  Yes, the window company!  In 2012, they decided that it was time to be more involved in the running community.  They have always been ones to commit to the local community with all kinds of sponsorship at different events so I'm sure it was an easy transition to be involved in our running community.

In my opinion, they have gone above and beyond what I think most companies have done for the Metro Detroit running community.  Just take a look at the local races they sponsored this year(in no particular order)

Ann Arbor Marathon

Big House, Big Heart

Dexter to Ann Arbor Half
Brandon with Renewal by Andersen of Detroit
Detroit Free Press Expo Booth
Down and Dirty Mud Run
Fall Color 5k
Farmington Run for the Hills
Girls on the Run 5k
Milford 30k
Livonia Run to Save our Youth 5k
Run for Ribbons 5k
Celtic Festival 5k
Solstice(now Kona) Run
St. Mary Mercy Run for Cancer 5k
Wicked Halloween Run
Brooksie Way Half Marathon
And a couple others with no pictures:
Freedom 5k and Firecracker mile
St. Joseph Summer Festival 5k
Livonia Turkey Trot

Plus they are still to sponsor the following running events for the rest of the year:
2 - Jingle All the Way 5k races for the Arthritis Foundation
Winter Girls on the Run 5k

That's a total of 22 races sponsored.  Yes, 22 races!!!!  The really unique thing is that not only do they sponsor the races but they also recruit runners to run in them.  I even had a chance to run for them twice.  One of the best ideas I've seen.
As you can see from the picture above, they have a team shirt, and they have contests throughout the year on their Facebook page(Click HERE) to find runners.  What an incredible idea!!

In addition to these races in 2013, they are already starting to plan for the 2013 year with their first event being a 5k at the Plymouth Ice Festival in January.  Wow, nothing like getting the season started early and keeping busy in the community, huh?

It's really outstanding dedication to the running community and the community as a whole.  I'm glad to see we have companies in the area that want to support us runners.  Without their help, the races would not be possible and I for one, am happy to know their involved with us.  We are lucky to have a company like this in our community.

A huge thank you to Brandon, his crew and the owners of Renewal by Andersen of Detroit for your incredible involvement this year.  I'd say you've earned the respect of the running community and look forward to seeing you at future races.  And if I ever need windows for my home, you'll be the first one I call.

*Note:  This is not a paid or sponsored blog post.  I posted this to promote a company that supports our Metro Detroit running community and no compensation was received or expected.  All opinions here are my own.

Have a great day and....Keep Running!!!!
