Next Up - first double!

This will be the first time I've got two races in one weekend!  Ok, one is only a mile but nevertheless, two races!

Both are part of the Crim Races in Flint, Michigan which draws thousands of runners from around the world.

First up is the Michigan Mile.  My first ever one mile race.  The race is on Friday evening.  I'd like to think I can run a sub 7 minute mile but I've logged lots of miles this week so I'm not sure my legs are up to it but we shall see.  I'm doing it for the awesome medal:

Second is the Crim 10 mile race on Saturday morning.  It's one of my favorite races.  The excitement of running with 10,000 of your closest friends can't be beat.  My running buddy and I will be running it.  It's my third time running it.  The course is hilly and challenging especially with the heat that is typical in August.

My plan is sub 7 for the one miler(race it if I'm feeling up to it) and then run the Crim as a training run but I'll probably push the pace a little on this.  Not race but not just training pace either.  I'll be back with a full race review for both races after.

Anyone else running the Crim this weekend?

  1. Love that medal. I may have to keep this race in mind next year just for the medal, haha. I'm sure you'll go sub-7 no problem. Good luck Saturday too!

  6. I'm running the CRIM!

Its my first time, so I'm pretty anxious. I am trying to do it as a training run for my halves, to take some pressure off... but a race is a race and I know I'll want to compete once we're off!

    1. Same here! I'm running my first half in October and figured I should try to do a big race beforehand! Good luck!
