Saucony - still my favorite!

I'll be following the yellow brick road of my marathon with The Ride 6 by Saucony

Well, Saucony still remains my #1 choice for running shoes.  Yesterday, while at the Brooksie Way expo, I picked up my third pair of the Ride 6 - $75 booyah!.  Saucony continues to improve on these every year they come out with a new version(with Ride 3 being the exception)  I couldn't even tell you how many Saucony Ride shoes I've worn over the years(dozens) but it remains a staple in my running shoe arsenal.  The only other shoe I've been comfortable for a marathon distance is Mizuno's Wave Rider which I happen to PR in last year.

While I've been searching and searching and searching(and searching more) for a trail shoe for my trail marathon next year, I think I've finally narrowed it down to the Brooks Cascadia 8.  I've tried them on and they seem comfortable enough for the full and I've talked to so many that praise them.  I wouldn't mind trying on the Pearl Izumi Trail N2's either but can't seem to find anyone that carries them.  Whatever I get I need them to be comfortable for up to 50k.  Perhaps I'll order both from Running Warehouse and send one back or even keep both to train with.  I just need to pull the trigger so I can run with them this winter.

What's your favorite road shoe?  Do you have a favorite trail shoe?

Have a great day and....Keep Running!!!!

  1. I'm a Saucony girl all the way! Currently running in the Kinvara 4s and love them! My husband runs in the Brooks Cascadia and can't say enough good things about them - by far his favorite trail shoe!

    1. I have the Kinvara 4 too and love them for under 13.1. Thanks for the input on Cascadia.

  2. I've been most comfortable thus far in Brooks. They just feel right to me. I've had 3 pairs of Adrenaline GTS (12 & 2-13's) and my current pair and main race shoe is the Ravenna 4, which is a bit lighter but still a support shoe. I also have a pair of Brooks Pure Cadence which are near-minimal shoes with support. I've done a couple 5ks with them and use them on the track, for the most part.

I have a pair of Saucony Guides, but I haven't really given them a chance yet. They have a different feel with a toe box I'm not yet comfortable with. I may have gotten them a half size too small (even though they appear longer than my other shoes). May try to mix them in after the marathon, but they were too different to mess with during this training cycle.

Haven't gotten a pair of trail shoes yet...

  4. Love my New Balance, The MT10 is amazing, and with the miles I already have on them I don't use them much for trail as they are just to thin for me... but so comfortable. Trail, you should try the New Balance 1010v2 That's the shoe I race trail in...

No the road I have been useing my 5 fingers...

  5. For years I swore by Brooks Adrenaline but now my favorite road shoe is the Adidas Energy Boost. Love the light weight and "springy" ride. As for trail shoes, Brooks Cascadia all the way for me!
