Last weekend was really the last weekend of anything easy from here on out until the marathon. I have a completely packed running schedule coming up for the next ten weeks. Yes, you heard it right, ten weeks!
Here's the long run plan starting 9/29 through 12/7:
- Brooksie Way Half Marathon(a hilly half) Was supposed to run 20 miles but I am breaking this up and ran 7 today and will only run the half alone. I won't race but will push it.
- Sleeping Bear Half Marathon - I'll be using this one to see how my training has been going. I'll be racing this one.
- 20 mile long run - I'm hoping for all trails on this one - still undecided.
- Detroit Half marathon (I'm volunteering with Kona Running Company at the expo on Friday so look for their booth and say hello)
- Wicked Halloween 10k (I'm volunteering the day before at packet pickup too so say hello if you see me!)
- Monumental Marathon - the main event!
- 6 mile slow recovery run(training only)
- Kona Chocolate Run 10k - chocolate, chocolate and more chocolate
- 10 mile slow recovery run(training only)
- A Christmas Story Virtual 10k - all for the medal on this one.
I also plan to take some rest from running 7-10 full days off sometime in December just like I did last year.
What races are on your calendar this fall? Anybody going to be at the races I'll be at?
Have a great day and....Keep Running!!!!
I'm going to be at the Brooksie this weekend, But I'm doing the 10k.
ReplyDeleteI'll be running the Detroit Int'l half, so I might see you at the expo! :)
And the Kona Hot Chocolate 10k will be my last race of this year!
I'm SUUUPER temped to run the Christmas story race...IT'S A MAJOR AWARD!
You can't pass up a "Major award!"
DeleteI have Brooksie Way Half as well. Not sure how I'll approach it. Would like to race it and PR, but will see how I feel.
ReplyDeleteGoal race is Detroit Marathon, my first full marathon. No time goal - just want to run well.
After that I don't have plans. Maybe Kona Hot Chocolate, a Turkey Trot or something else.
Turkey Trot is the perfect amount of recovery time after Freep
DeleteJosh - as you know, Brooksie is a tough one to PR on which would make it extra special if you did. Good luck! I will see you there!
Deletewhoa! that's a busy schedule. I didn't realize the virtual race got a bib and medal. Now I'm searching the couch cushions for $45.
ReplyDeleteha. Yes, actually $54 - not cheap but I can't pass up that medal!
DeleteI'll look for you at the Free Press, Monumental, Chocolate, Christmas Story.... geez, it sounds like I'm stalking you :(
ReplyDeleteHa Michelle - we're on the same schedule!! Definitely say hello at the Detroit Expo if you are there Friday.
DeleteGreat schedule! I wish I could plan out my races like you. Just not that organized :) .... It's awesome to have these races to look forward to.
ReplyDeleteBeside my marathons, I have nothing else planned :(
Hey, thanks for the comments on my post. Our stories are very similar, which makes your blog one of my favorites. Following your blog has really inspired me. Keep up the good work Jeff!
No problem Jose. And if I had two marathons planned, I would not like be racing this much. ha!
DeleteI want to do the Hot Chocolate race so bad and there is one in St Louis this year only about 3 1/2 hours away, but the date just doesn't work.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a lot of racing, but a lot of fun in there. Stay healthy!
Hey Michael - the race I mention is a local race in the Detroit area and not related to that organization. Inaugural year too!
DeleteI'll be at Kona Chocolate 10k! Looking forward to it. Can't wait to hear how the Sleeping Bear Half goes. That one is on my race bucket list :)
ReplyDeleteI'll be pacing at the Wicked Halloween and the Kona Chocolate 10Ks.
ReplyDeleteI have lots of races on the cards, as many as I can fit in, but for now I am aiming at racing a half in about 3 weeks.
ReplyDeleteGood luck this weekend at Brooksie Way. That half is no joke!! You did great last year so I have no doubt in my mind you will kick butt again this year.
