This and that......

With training for my 50k coming up in the next week, this should be a little bit of a cutback week which it will be.  I'll finish off this week with a half marathon on the trails as a celebration to kick off my training - all 24 weeks of it.  This week will be all about the enjoyable run.  I ran a nice 5.5 miler on Sunday on the trails.  I ran a nice five miler yesterday and I even ran another five miler today.

For me, in training, it's all about consistency and as long as I get my five runs in a week, I don't worry too much about training otherwise.  Fast, slow, rain, dry, dark, sunny, trail, road.  I just need that run five days a week.  I like to be regular.  Regular keeps the worries away.

I got news recently that one of my long time running buddies is going to be moving to Arizona!  It's really a bummer to see him go.  Of course, the first we heard of it, we(Kevin and I) decided we need to run an Arizona race.  Haha!  But, of course, I'd rather see him stay.  I've run four marathons with him and numerous other races.  It's not easy to find running buddies as crazy as me.  Well, except for my other running buddies Kevin and Dave who are crazier than me.

I mean, really, who wants to live in a place where it's warm all year and doesn't rain?  Sounds terrible doesn't it?  You will surely be missed Trieu!

Lots of races on the horizon over the next eight weeks including the Trail half marathon, Hightail to Ale 5k, Kona Novi Half marathon, Back to the Beach Half marathon, Kona 10 mile run and the Solstice half marathon!  Looks like I'll be doing quite a bit of racing coming up!  I believe I might like to run the half distance, don't you think?  Lots of race reviews of the next couple months.

Have a great day and....Keep Running!!!!

  1. I have found that being consistent is huge. It is why I improved last fall and not having it is why I am struggling at the moment.

Good luck Trieu! Arizona still cant have our water, but you can take a little with u!
