Six month review 2014

As I get older, the time keeps getting faster and faster!!!  I've had a very eventfully first half of the year when it comes to running.  Here's some of my statistics.

778 of running - it's like running from Detroit to Martha's Vineyard!

Miles ran:
  • January - 121.54
  • February - 117.68
  • March - 166.86
  • April - 136.90
  • May - 89.25
  • June - 146.52
  • Total for the six months 2014:  778.75 miles(77,832 calories!)
  • Total for the six months 2013:  584.51
Miles Biked:
  • January - 0
  • February - 0
  • March - 0
  • April - 0
  • May - 20.62
  • June - 65.16
  • Total for the six months 2014:  85.78
  • Total for the six months 2013:  84.33
I also walked quite a bit but I've only had my Vivofit for the last few months:
1,469,754 steps since I started tracking on March 4th
Included in the above, I ran 12 races:
  • 5 - 5k's
  • 1 - 10k
  • 1 - 10 mile
  • 6 - half marathons
The half distance still remains my favorite distance.  No new PR's unfortunately but I've been focused on endurance more than speed as I get ready for my 50k in October.

  1. OK so there are on PR, but have you tried to run fast in any of the races, and didn't you have the little injury scare when you backed off?

    So I bet you are getting so strong you could run a PR if you aimed at one...

  2. I read that if you swim laps it will improve your breathing which will improve your running times. You should try it and test the theory.
